Mia Montero's first album, Sweeter Than Honey, was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" and Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour album. Mia wanted this album to not only reflect who she is as a singer, but what she believes spiritually. Mia pulled lyrics for this album from the book of Psalms, as well as her own writings on finding Christ in her life. Mia's inspirations - whether its music related or fashion related, comes from the 1970s - which was the main reason why this album was created the way it was.
